Dinner & Theatre – “The Alto’s” (like the Soprano’s only lower)

An Interactive Musical Comedy Mystery Spoof of the famous HBO series. Meet the
family that inspired it all, the Altos. It’s Tony’s funeral (Or is it?) and his
wife Toffee has invited you to the wake. Chris wants you should check your
weapons at the door (and if you don’t have any, he’s got extras!) Uncle Senior
has a rigged dice game going and Tony’s Ma is – well just nuts. Tony’s shrink
Dr. Malaise is giving free analysis and the Father isn’t sure what he is doing!
But one thing is for sure, almost no one seems sad that Tony is gone and they
certainly done seem happy once he’s discovered alive. Be prepared to dodge
bullets, laugh at the songs and see if you can’t figure out who put a contract
out on Tony!

Show Dates- October 28 & 29 and Nov. 3, 4 & 5

Shows on October 29, 3 & 5 – $15 per person for play only. Doors open at 7pm and show starts at 7:30pm

Dinner Shows – October 28 & 4 – Doors & Dinner start at 6:30pm, $28 per person includesdinner and play. Dinner includes: Italian Salad, Seasoned Bread-sticks, Pasta
Bar and a Delicious Dessert. Dinnerincludes water, soda and wine available for purchase.

Tyranena Oktoberfest Bike Ride

1750 Riders • 3 Bands • Many Miles • Lots of
Fun!

Our 9th annual event.

This charity fun ride has
25, 50 & 70-mile routes passing through beautiful Jefferson & Dodge Counties, beginning and
ending at Tyranena Brewing Company in Lake Mills.

SAG support and rest areas
with snacks, restrooms and refreshments also provided during the ride. Each
participant receives a commemorative Tyranena Oktoberfest Bike Ride T-shirt, two
drink tickets for beer, soda or bottled water, and a ticket for a complete
dinner.

Free tours of the brewery
will be offered in the afternoon, when riders have returned from routes and Trek
Bicycles will be hosting our first rest stop at their world headquarters in
Waterloo, Wisconsin. Riders are able to take a historical and Lance Armstrong
memorabilia tour at this time. (All 3 routes will use
this rest stop.)

After the ride,
participants and spectators are invited to enjoy live music performance from
1:00 to 10:30 pm. Join the fun!

Interest perked? Register
soon! We do impose a 1750 RIDER LIMIT and have met our limit
consistently for the past four years.

Fall Festival of Color

9am to 3pm in Common Park will be over 130 vendors selling pumpkins, gourds,
mums, crafts, artwork, jewelry, games for kids, facepainting and so much more. A
Large varity of food vendors can also be found in the park, all are non profit
organization from the area. This event is a great community event for all ages.

Novelist Larry Watson Speaks at LD Fargo Public Library

[ November 12, 2011; 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. ] 12 November 2011, 1 PM to 3 PM. Novelist Larry Watson. Watson will speak about his writing career and latest novel, American Boy. Watson is a Milwaukee resident and famed for his tightly drawn stories about families in rural Montana. Watson's Montana 1948 was previously selected for the Jefferson County Reads program.

Novelist Susanna Daniel at LD Fargo Public Library

Madison resident Daniel’s latest book is Stiltsville.
Stiltsville is partially set among the stilt houses of Miami’s
Biscayne Bay and follows a Georgia transplant who falls in love with
both Miami and one of the city’s men.

Ladies: Day Into Night for deer season “widows”.

Author Margot Peters at LD Fargo Public Library

Lake Mills resident Peters has authored several biographies including books on
Charlotte Bronte, Bernard Shaw, and famed stage actors Alfred Lunt
and Lynn Fontanne. Peters’ new biography on Wisconsin poet Lorine
Niedecker, Lorine Niedecker: A Poets Life, will be published in
October.

Friends of the Library Acoustic Bash

Crime Novel Writing Workshop at LD Fargo Public Library

November 5th, 10 AM to 3 PM.

Experienced author and writing teacher Anthony Neil Smith will instruct attendees on writing crime novels.

Smith is the author of Yellow Medicine, Hogdoggin’, and other novels. He is founder and editor-in-chief of the crime fiction magazine Plots With Guns. Smith is Director of Creative Writing at Southwestern Minnesota State University.

Dr. Smith will review registrants’ writing samples (SAMPLES!) before the workshop.
