Tonight theFarmers’ Market will feature Veggie Night. In addition to the regular 50 produce, prepared food  and craft vendors, there will be a number of fun family activities including a Vegetable Sculpture Contest, a flower arranging demo and a rotten tomato toss.

There are two categories for the Vegetable Sculpture Contest, one for children ages 5 though 12 and one for ages 13 to adult. The sculpture must be created with home grown vegetables and fruit and all parts must be edible. The exception to this is the use of tooth picks or wooden skewers. Winners will also be announced at 6:15 pm.

The Rotten Vegetable Toss will take place from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. A number of “celebrity” photos will be available as the targets. If you have suggestions for these photos email jill@lakemillsmainstreet.org and cast your vote. The rotten produce will be available at 3 pieces for $1.00.

Local florist, Hope Oostdik of Dutch Designs, will hold a cut flower arranging demonstration at 6:00 pm in the gazebo. Winners of the sculpture contest will be announced during the demo at approximately 6:15.

Every Wednesday from 2 pm until dusk Commons Park in downtown Lake Mills comes alive with fresh, local produce, baked goods, crafts and more.
